Our main objective for 2021 is to provide sustainable access to safe water to the inhabitants of Tiko municipality, a rural community in the Southwest region of the Republic of Cameroon, through: (1) education on water catchment management and water purification methods, and (2) the provision of water bore holes or wells to make water easily and safely accessible to the community.
In the Tiko municipality, an estimated 70% to 80% of diseases are attributable to poor water quality and in some cases, a lack of drinking or portable water. Dysentery and cholera, for example, are among the leading causes of infant mortality in the community.
This project is critical because without access to safe water, water-borne diseases will continue to proliferate with negative long-lasting health, economic and social effects on an already impoverished community that has been severely impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Please donate whatever amount you can afford to make this project a resounding success. No amount is too small in this effort to ensure that Tiko has a constant and sustainable supply of clean water.
All donors will be listed on a Donors’ Plaque unless they prefer to be anonymous.
“Power Donors” (above $250) will have individual plaques:
- $1000 and over – 4×4 Marble or Gold-engraved plaque
- $500 to $999 – 4×4 Marble or Silver-engraved plaque
- $250 to $500 – 4×4 Marble or Silver-engraved plaque
