The Wholesome Health Promotion (WHP) Board is thrilled to announce that Dibussi Tande has officially joined the organization as a Board Member and Director of Training and Curriculum Design.
Dibussi Tande is no stranger to the organization; drafted WHP’s constitutive documents (bylaws, articles of incorporation, etc.), conceived the organization’s vision and mission statements, and designed its organizational structure and programs. In addition, he designed and created original content for the WHP website, which he now manages as the de facto webmaster, and also writes and edits most of the organization’s press releases and other official documents as the interim Head of the WHP Communications Unit.
Dibussi was instrumental in the success of WHP’s workshops in Buea and Idenau for which he designed and developed instructional materials. And, he has been actively involved in the management of the organization, albeit in a behind-the-scenes capacity.
As a Director of Training and Instructional Design, Dibussi will provide the vision, leadership and expertise in the planning, design, development, delivery, evaluation, and revision of WHP instructional and training programs. To this end, he will be responsible for creating and driving the roadmap for a long-term training vision for the organization; planning and overseeing workshops, seminars, lectures, conferences, etc., relevant for WHP’s target audience in Cameroon; coordinating logistics for training and training teams on the field; and identifying and liaising with partner organizations for joint curriculum design and training initiatives, or training assistance.
He will also be responsible for designing and delivering train-the-trainers programs based on WHP instructional models, systems, and materials.
A Multidisciplinary Background
Dibussi Tande joins WHP with an impressive multidisciplinary background directly relevant to WHP’s growth and success.
He has served on numerous not-for-profit boards around the world, most notably on the Advisory Board of the Highway Africa Center of the School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa, which organizes the largest annual gathering of African journalists in the world. Dibussi also brings along in-depth experience in managing not-for-profit organizations such as Fako America Organization, where he served in various capacities as Secretary, Vice President, Board Member and President for over a decade.
With extensive experience in Instructional Systems Design and Educational Technology, Dibussi Tande is a perfect fit for the position of Director of Training and Curriculum Design. In the past 12 years, he has occupied a variety of Instructional Design positions at Accenture, developing Instructor-led and Online training most notably for Accenture’s Health & Public Service practice.
Dibussi Tande holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public law and Political Science from the University of Yaounde, along with an MA in Political Science and an M.S.Ed in Instructional Technology from Northeastern Illinois University (Chicago) and Northern Illinois University (DeKalb) respectively.
An expert on social media activism, Dibussi Tande has worked with civil society organizations and political activists, particularly in Africa, to design and implement successful digital advocacy campaigns and programs. He runs the award-winning blog Scribbles from the Den and is the author of a book on collective memory and minority rights in Cameroon. Dibussi writes for a variety of print and online journals and is routinely interviewed by the international media on socio-political developments in Cameroon.
Without doubt, Dibussi Tande will be leveraging his multidisciplinary background and experience to tell the WHP story to the public, engage with our target communities in Cameroon, and ensure that the organization achieve its objectives.
