The Chief Executive Officer of Wholesome Health Promotion (WHP), Ms. Teresa Tande on Friday December 10th in the presence of the Lord Mayor of Tiko Municipality and CDC Cottage Hospital Management unveiled a 5,000 litre capacity borehole to serve the hospital and the community at large. In the words of the CEO, “the borehole will be a life-saver.” Teresa assured Cottage Hospital Management that the partnership between the CDC and WHP extends beyond the borehole project as she further donated Nitro gloves, blood pressure cups, protective nose and surgical masks as well as other paramedicals.
A Water Management Committee comprising a staff from the Tiko Council, Quarter Heads and some selected CDC Staff was set up to ensure the sustainable use of the borehole.
Speaking to the Planter, the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Ayuketang Micheal applauded the gesture by WHP for providing such a useful facility to curb shortage of water in the hospital and its environs. WHP has as mission the promotion of general wellness and health education to rural areas and less privileged communities in Cameroon.
