The WHP Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Chantal Nde as Head of the WHP Food Safety Program and Mr. Ludwig Manga Williams as WHP Grants Coordinator.

As the lead resource person for our recent Food Safety pilot workshop in Buea, Cameroon, Dr. Nde was instrumental in the workshop’s success, It is therefore a great pleasure to officially have her as an integral part of the WHP family. Dr. Nde comes with 10 years of experience in food safety. She has served in variety of food safety positions such research associate at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Manager of Food Safety and Microbiology at KraftHeinze Company. She is currently a Principal Scientist-Food Safety at PepsiCo, Frito-Lay.

Dr. Nde holds a PhD in Food Safety from North Dakota State University.

The goal of WHP’s Food Safety program is to inform, educate, and improve awareness of food hazards and risks, and how to mitigate them through publications, workshops, training opportunities, conferences and other events.

Like Dr. Nde, Mr. Ludwig Manga Williams also played a key role in the successful outcome of the Buea workshop for which he selflessly took up the role of de facto accountant and auditor, thereby ensuring that funds were not just spent diligently, but were also properly accounted for.

As Grants Coordinator, Mr. Manga Williams will responsible for developing and coordinating WHP grant-funded programs; determining WHP program requirements and sources of funding available for each program; writing grant applications and submitting applications to funding agencies or foundations; and, directing and coordinating the evaluation and monitoring of grant-funded programs.

Mr. Manga Williams, who is currently a Senior Accountant at Wilshire Hospitality, in Long Island City, New York, brings over 20 years of experience in financial, accounting, auditing, problem identification, project feasibility study and design, appraisal, monitoring, evaluation, grant writing and institutional development. He has a track record in developing and securing funding on capacity development, poverty alleviation, environmental conservation, HIV/AIDS sensitization, participatory research, institutional development, non-profit management, fundraising, and conflict management.

Mr. Manga Williams has implemented several projects funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Department for International Development (DFID-UK), Sight and Life International, Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), World Conservation Union, UN-Habitat, GEF- World Bank Project, World Wildlife Fund (WWF-US), and a host of other international organizations.

Mr. Manga Williams holds a diploma in Integrated Rural Development with specialization in Project Planning and Management from Pan African Institute for Development, Cameroon, a Bachelors in Accounting and Political Science from Rutgers University, and Master of Science in Accountancy and MBA in Finance and Risk Management from Saint Peters University.
